Lead Software Engineer - San Francisco
Full Time
We are seeking a dynamic Lead Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will take the helm in managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables while guiding the development of innovative software solutions. You’ll be a key player in designing, building, and enhancing our tech stack, as well as leading a talented team of engineers.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience in a tech lead or similar leadership role.
- Versatility and enthusiasm for tackling new challenges across the full technology stack.
- Proficiency in Python with a strong background in building APIs, web applications, and mobile apps.
- Solid understanding of AWS technologies (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AI modeling, particularly in LLM, GenAI, or RAG.
- Familiarity with AI platforms such as AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, or Google Cloud AI is a significant plus.
- Self-Driven and Self-Motivated: The ideal candidate thrives in an autonomous environment, takes initiative without the need for constant supervision, and demonstrates a strong drive to achieve personal and team goals.

Responsibilities
- Lead and collaborate effectively with team members, including those in different locations.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with your technical expertise.
- Write and review product or system development code.
- Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to evaluate available technologies.
- Review code developed by other team members, providing feedback to ensure best practices in coding standards, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
- Contribute to and adapt existing documentation and educational content based on product updates and user feedback.
- Triage and resolve product or system issues by analyzing the root causes and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $100,000 – $200,000, plus equity.
- Comprehensive benefits package, including medical coverage and unlimited on-demand PTO.

Xcela is looking for a results-oriented Senior Account Executive to join our team in a hybrid role. This role is ideal for a successful fractional CRO or a motivated individual eager to make an impact in the rapidly evolving insurance technology space.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by understanding their needs, challenges, and goals.
- Own the full sales cycle — from prospecting to close — with accountability for meeting or exceeding quota.
- Present tailored solutions that deliver measurable ROI, streamline operations, and create tangible business value.
- Leverage your existing network of life insurance brokerages and agencies to generate new opportunities.
- Navigate the complexities of agencies, IMOs, and brokerages to effectively position Xcela’s platform.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and customer success teams to ensure long-term client success.
- Represent Xcela with professionalism and passion in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Proven Sales Success: B2B SaaS sales experience with $50K+ ACV deals and a consistent record of exceeding revenue targets.
- Industry Expertise: Familiarity with life insurance agents, IMOs, brokerages, and the broader insurance landscape.
- Tech Fluency: Strong working knowledge of SaaS and AI technologies.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to evaluate pipeline, ROI, and opportunities using frameworks like MEDPICC.
- Excellent Communication: Strong interpersonal and client-facing communication skills.
- Network Advantage: Existing relationships in the life insurance industry are a significant plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
